Humble
We can learn from all beings in life.
The lesson we need to teach ourselves:
Let go of our dominion.
Hear the morning songs of cardinals,
The Angels of Heaven sing no better.
Each cardinal note, orchestrated together.
Teaches that when our we join our voices,
Our message carries further.
See puppies huddled together,
Giving warmth to one another.
The sight is as precious as any other.
A reminder that comfort is found in closeness.
See Emperor Penguins in the cold of winter,
Tens of thousands huddled shoulder to shoulder,
Rotating positions on the rim; surviving as one.
They teach humanity how to stand together.
See a humpback whale teach its calf to surface,
Showcasing the majesty of a spinning breach.
Arcing through the waves, a lesson in grace,
Reminds us that wisdom is passed not just in words,
but in expression.
See otters holding hands,
To keep from drifting apart while they sleep.
An anchor unbroken by the shifting tide,
A reminder that trust is the strongest bond.
Be amazed at dolphins, streamlined and smart,
Riding waves and leaping to the sky,
You could almost see the smiles on their faces
A reminder to us to feel the joy of movement.
Marvel at ants working to form living bridges,
Their teamwork is next level, each ant’s task singular,
Yet perfectly joined with the others.
A clear lesson, cooperation builds strength
beyond individual limits.
Bonobos use empathy and affection
To resolve conflicts peacefully.
They build strength through kindness, not force.
We see that compassion is a tool for peace.
Bees dance to communicate locations of food.
Their movements speak in rhythms,
A silent language guides them with precision,
We see that that connection goes beyond words.
Nature humbles us with lessons in unity and grace,
Even the smallest of beings, thrive on cooperation.
Strength lies not in dominance, but in understanding.
We are not above nature, we are simply another part of it.
Let’s stay in our place.
